I love my steamer! This is probably the best purchase I ever made. It steams out wrinkles in a flash in every fabric I own. No more spending time ironing for me. In a short minute, my clothing looks beautiful. I have had no problems with the tank whatsover, and love the idea that I do not have to worry if I forget to leave the steamer on. I used to have a hand-held steamer, and you cannot even compare the two machines. Bravo for the Rowenta steamer. It receives complete raves from me!

This garment steamer is by far the BEST for the money. I compared the Rowenta against the Jiffy garment steamer and the Rowenta outperformed in every category. For example, the Rowenta has a extra large water storage compartment, allowing for more time between water refills; the on/off switch is easily accessable and operable by your foot; the 15 minute time out means less risk of fire should you forget to shut the unit off; the large wheels allow for easy movement; the heating element delivers steam sooner and more consistently than the Jiffy steamer. And finally, as for anyone questioning the effectiveness of steaming your garments as opposed to ironing, take it from this bacheleor, steaming is easier and far more effective than ironing.

I purchased it for my wife because she wanted a steamer. There were a lot of steamers out there and a lot of them were cheaper. I’m glad I choose the one I did. It works flawlessly and is so easy to use. GREAT PRODUCT!

Rowenta IS-8100 Commercial Garment Steamer
I just purchased this steamer and have used it several times. It has cut the time I spend “ironing” by 75%. I have a wonderful linen jacket and pants that I never wear because of the care it takes. The steamer dispatched the wrinkles in no time and left it looking like linen not starched and perfectly crisp. For my almost no-iron clothes, it only takes a couple of sweeps to make them look great. It doesn’t take up nearly as much space as my formally ever present ironing board which is also a plus. I am now “pressing” or steaming all my laundry at once rather than the do it when I need it approach. So far this is a winner and worth the money. I did note that Target now sells it for $129. If I have problems with this in the future, I will post another review. But for now its a keeper.

Professional Garment Steamer
Excellent quality steamer, & fast shipping. Removes creases in all garments; blouses, pants, skirts, etc. saving lots of cleaning bills. I would recommend this item highly. Also easy to use and maintain.

I ordered this after my sister told me what a great product it is. I whole heartedly agree. I keep it in my laundry room and use it on clothes right from the dryer. Works so well!

This steamer cuts ironing time to a bearable amount. I wish I had had one for the past 40 years. Shirts and tops require a few zips on each side and you are done. Makes the suit look like it had been to the cleaners. I even do most pants and shorts although it is a little tricky to get them hung up to steam–use hangers with clips. I would like to give one to everyone with a wedding coming up.

I bought this steamer after using my parents jiffy (or whatever is called) 200 series.
The rowenta takes less than 60 seconds to have continous steam.
This steamer ROCKS when it comes to soothing out wrinkles.. especially dress shirts.. and wool..
Warning: it gets HOT! you will get BURNED if you are not careful.
I love the size and the “look” of this steamer.
I think if you are going to use a steamer on a daily basis, an hour at a time..(large family, etc).. perhaps you should buy a “real commerical” steamer…
However… for those using it for 1-3 people… a few shirts/pants every other day… this is good enough..
I like rowenta…. and i have not had any issues with the water tank…
Of course…if i do… i’ll report it ASAP!

I’ve always wanted a bigger steamer than the handhelds available, but I was skeptical after reading some of the negative reviews on the larger, more ‘commercial’ brands/models. I’m sorry the Rowenta IS-8100 did not work out for some, but I LOVE this steamer. It has paid for itself over and over again just counting the savings in dry cleaning bills! Most of the clothes I would take to the dry cleaners really weren’t dirty, they just needed to be freshened up (take the wrinkles out). You can steam ANY fabric without fear of ruining it or scroching it. The only reason I get my ironing board out occassionally, is to sharpen up the ‘creases’ (like in slacks). I’m so glad I finally bought it!

I bought this steamer recently to replace a similar Rowenta I got over 5 years ago. The element that creates the steam stopped working, but for as much as I use it I got a lot out of it in 5 years. I came to rely on it so much that I had to replace it. I use it almost daily and on lots of things such as shorts, skirts, jeans, and ties. Shirts & sweaters with creases from being folded can be put on a hanger and presto, wrinkles gone! I hate ironing and with today’s synthetic fabrics it is not safe to do so on many garments. Plus, the steamer can also be used on curtains and drapes.
Tips:
Make sure you rinse the tank out well before refilling. There will be some sediment in it from the water. It is best to use distilled water to minimize that.
Do not use this too close to a wall. You will find that steam can condense on the wall which might not be good for your paint or wallpaper. I store mine near a wall, but always pull it out into the room when in use.

I’m curious why nobody has mentioned the annoying hanger pole that constantly swivels. I love the steamer but shy of nailing the hanger to the wall it’s very frustrating trying to hold the hanger pole steady with one hand, while stretching the shirt with the other hand, while getting a second person to wave the steamer wand. Trust me, I’m pretty handy and resourceful, and a steamer is what I’ve always wanted, but I find this part to be a design flaw. Anybody? Is mine the only one that has the pole that flops around?
Thanks!
